A closer look at afx.com.
AFX brings together trading strategies and the technology to follow them. Here’s an introduction to its diversified approach, the GBP fund structure, and how you can monitor an account through the AFX app or MetaTrader 5.
The approach
What is AFX Markets?
afx.com is operated by afx Markets Ltd. Its website presents managed trading strategies alongside account access through its own app and MetaTrader 5. The diversified options combine several approaches in a single account, with GBP, EUR and USD versions listed.
For the GBP Diversified Fund, AFX publishes the allocation shown here. The trading portion is split between three of its risk categories. Spreading money across strategies still leaves exposure to trading losses; the categories are AFX’s own descriptions.
| Component | Allocation |
|---|---|
| Capital Reserve Account | 40% |
| Medium Risk | 20% |
| High Risk | 20% |
| High Risk+ | 20% |
AFX’s published allocation, checked on 22 September 2026. A reserve allocation should not be read as a capital guarantee.

Understand the account.
For a managed strategy, the day-to-day experience is about knowing what is happening in your account. AFX describes its app as a way to follow trades placed by a fund manager, review activity and monitor performance.
Its platform information also lists MetaTrader 5 as an alternative. Use the official download and access links from AFX when setting up either platform.
- The AFX app
- Access account monitoring on the web, iOS or Android.
- MetaTrader 5
- An alternative interface for viewing trading activity and analysis.
- Trading history
- Review past activity alongside current positions to understand how a strategy has behaved.

AFX, explained.
Strategies, platforms and the details to check before you proceed.
What is the AFX GBP Diversified Fund?
AFX describes it as a GBP strategy combining a Capital Reserve Account with three trading strategies. The published allocation is 40% to the reserve and 20% each to Medium Risk, High Risk and High Risk+. Review the current GBP strategy information and the account documents before deciding.
Can I monitor my account without placing trades myself?
AFX’s platform page describes its app as a way to monitor trades executed by your fund manager. It offers web, iOS and Android access, with MetaTrader 5 as an alternative for viewing trading activity. Confirm which services and permissions apply to the account you choose.
Are returns or the reserve allocation guaranteed?
Do not read a strategy label, advertised return or reserve allocation as a guarantee. AFX warns that leveraged trading carries a high risk and losses can exceed deposited funds. Ask for the specific product terms and risk disclosure, including how the reserve works and whether any contractual protection applies.
Who operates afx.com, and where is it licensed?
AFX identifies its operator as afx Markets Ltd in Mauritius and publishes investment dealer licence number GB19024587 from the Mauritius Financial Services Commission. Check the licence information and the legal entity in your account agreement. Do not assume UK bank deposit protection applies to a trading account.
What are the minimum investment, fees and withdrawal terms?
Confirm these directly with AFX for the strategy and account you are considering. Ask about the minimum initial investment, any performance or management fees, trading costs, and withdrawal notice periods. Establish how open trades affect withdrawals and whether any charges apply before transferring funds.
Can anyone open an AFX account?
Availability depends on your residence, age, applicable rules and AFX’s account-opening requirements. AFX lists restricted jurisdictions on its website and requires clients to meet the relevant legal age. Check your eligibility directly with AFX rather than assuming that a currency option makes an account available to you.
How does Simon’s AFX referral link work?
